Manual Soil Blocker Tool - 5 x 5cm Block Maker for Seed Starting

Start your seeds efficiently and sustainably with this Manual Soil Blocker. This handy garden tool allows you to create perfect 5cm square soil blocks, providing an excellent medium for germination and reducing the need for disposable plastic pots. It's an eco-friendly way to nurture strong, healthy seedlings with minimal root disturbance during transplanting.

Key Features:

  • Creates Four Blocks: Efficiently produces four uniform 5cm x 5cm x 5cm soil blocks with each press, speeding up your seed starting process.
  • Built-in Seed Indentation: Each block mould features a built-in pin that creates a small indentation (approx. 1cm / 0.39 inch deep) on top of the block, perfect for easy and precise seed placement.
  • Promotes Healthy Roots: Soil blocks encourage stronger root systems through 'air pruning' as roots reach the edge of the block, minimizing the risk of seedlings becoming root-bound.
  • Reduces Transplant Shock: Planting seedlings in soil blocks directly into your garden or larger pots significantly reduces root disturbance, leading to less transplant shock and faster establishment.
  • Durable Construction: Made from sturdy ABS plastic for longevity and repeated use season after season.
  • Easy to Use: Features a comfortable handle and a simple spring-loaded mechanism. Just mix your soil, press the blocker in, scrape the bottom flat, and eject the finished blocks onto a tray.
  • Eco-Friendly Alternative: Reduces reliance on single-use plastic pots and trays, making your gardening practices more sustainable.

How to Use:

  1. Prepare a suitable moist (not soaking wet) seed starting soil mix.
  2. Firmly press the soil blocker into the soil mix, ensuring the chambers are completely filled.
  3. Scrape off any excess soil from the bottom of the blocker to create a flat base.
  4. Position the blocker over your seed tray and push down on the handle to eject the four soil blocks.
  5. Place your seeds into the indentations on top of each block.
