When are safety vests mandatory? In dangerous or dark situations, it is essential to be clearly visible. That's why, for example, traffic wardens wear reflective orange vests: they need to be seen. Wearing a safety vest is becoming mandatory in more and more situations. People who perform work involving traffic are legally required to wear a safety vest. This includes, for example, police officers during sobriety checks, traffic wardens, road workers, railway workers, and even garbage collectors. Safety vests aren't always mandatory, but they can be useful in many situations. Think of event organizers or staff. It immediately tells visitors who to contact in case of an emergency or if they have questions. Wearing a safety vest is also highly recommended while running or motorcycling, especially in adverse or dark weather conditions. It's a small investment that significantly increases your safety. Safety vests in the car: In the Netherlands, it is not currently mandatory to have a safety vest in your car. However, other European countries have different regulations; in Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and Spain, among others, it is legally required to have at least one safety vest readily available in the car. This means the vest may not be in the trunk. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a fine. For commercial vehicles in these countries, a safety vest for each occupant is mandatory. The advice is—even if you're going on vacation—to bring high-visibility vests for all passengers. Be well-prepared for your trip! This ensures everyone is clearly visible in the unlikely event that the vehicle has to be abandoned due to a breakdown or accident. Order the Doodadeals® 2x Adult Safety Vest.
